Overview edit · view history

Beep Games was a game development studio established in May 2000 in Kirkland, Washington (USA). Founded as Beep Industries, the name was changed to Beep Games in September 2003. It was founded by Clayton Kauzlaric, previously the Creative Director at Gas Powered Games and before that Lead Designer / Art Lead at Cavedog Entertainment. Several employees previously worked at Cavedog.

The studio debuted with the 3D platformer Voodoo Vince in 2003 as a first-party developer for Microsoft's Xbox console. After that five casual titles were created: Flying Leo (2005), Zodiac (2006), Four Houses (2006), Word Spiral (2006) and Realms of Gold (2007).

From around 2009 Beep Games most likely only consisted of Kauzlaric because he joined Microsoft as Senior Design Director. He later became Principle Creative Director of Xbox Games Studios Publishing at the company.

Kauzlaric has close ties to Ron Gilbert, through their shared history at Cavedog Entertainment between 1996 and 2000. They co-created the character Deathspank (2010) for Hothead Games and did some smaller titles together as Beep Games such as Word Spiral (2011), a new mobile version of the studio's 2006 title of the same name, as well as The Big Big Castle (2012) and Scurvy Scallywags (2013).

In 2017 Voodoo Vince: Remastered was released as a remastered version of the studio's debut title and in 2020 a completely new action game Bartlow's Dread Machine was released, co-developed with Tribetoy Inc.

Most likely that was the last game for Beep Games, as according to Kauzlaric's LinkedIn page the studio was closed in May 2019.
