In the late nineties and early eighties, General Quarters Software released a line of tactical naval wargames that shared similar gameplay and graphics. It appears that the forefather of these games was published by Avalon Hill in 1983. Under Southern Skies bears a striking similarity to the tactical naval wargames released by General Quarters in 1989 and 1990.
