Began his career at the Riot Subsidiary of Telenet Japan as a graphic artist. He eventually became a director and producer of their games.
In 1994, Telenet Japan closed the Riot division, he was transferred to another subsidiary, Wolf Team . He initially directed Tales of Phantasia, and he has been the director of all of their games since then.
He is best known for directing the Tales series of games for publisher Namco. These days, he leads the Namco Tales Studio and owns 6% of the shares (Namco owns 60%, and Telenet Japan owns 34%).
