My name is Jarrett Holderby (and since the question was raised on the bio page, I'm a male)...I've checked Moby off and on over the last few years to see who is where and doing what, and each time I come across my own name I resolve to submit a bio, but until now I've not done so. So, for anyone who is interested, here it is.

My background is originally in traditional art, both fine art and commercial, and I've been a full-time professional artist since 1981. I have 23 years experience as a full-time professional artist/illustrator, with 9 of those years spent working as in the digital arena. I worked for seven years as an artist in the computer game industry. I work in both 2d and 3d. Though I do have experience working in management as an art director, I think my real passion is to create the work rather than to manage. Within the gaming industry my job tasks differed slightly from company to company, ranging from creating texture maps and concept art to doing matte paintings for video and FMV's. I spent much of my gaming-career working closely with the designer(s) and/or producer(s) to create hi-res artwork based on a particular game's characters and environments. Some of these paintings were used in the game itself, while others were used by the marketing dept and the P.R. team(s) when they needed glam shots and eye-candy for sales and marketing of the product(s), art for websites, hi-end posters for client and/or employee art-related percs, game-convention needs and corporate presentations for a multitude of end-user and company related functions. This often included use as magazine covers, product container art, CD cover art, art for billboards and art used in roundtables as presentations to venture Capitalists or other investors. I also did first iteration concept-art for various purposes.

I also have a degree in architectural design in AutoCAD and Architectural Desktop (the 3d flavor of AutoCAD), and I do work as an architectural illustrator in addition to my ongoing work as a fine artist and a commercial illustrator.

Games and projects contributed while at SquareSoft include: Worlds Within (rights to which were later acquired by Big Rain Inc., which was itself later acquired by CRAVE GAMES. The game was retitled Shadow Madness and was released in 1999).
