I first heard about MG from a magazine article which called the site the Internet Movie Database of video games. I was intrigued, but the thing that really hooked me was that MobyGames lent some validity to gaming.

... this would have been around 5+ years ago. I'd guess PC Magazine.

Think I came across MG in 2000 after a Google search for Star Control 2.

Swedish PC Gamer had a half page article about MobyGames in their December 2003 number. And that was the first time I heard about the site.

Totally be pure chance while searching for information on a game nearly six years ago... The question I'm asking myself is: What game?!?

I believe I was looking for info on certain games and stumbled upon a few links to MG entries. I thought this site was one of the most amazing ones I ever saw.

Just doing searches on Google or whatnot about various games, I'd sometimes get MobyGames as a result. At first this kinda bummed me out; I'd long been a fan of game credits and had started collecting some on my own, and had thought I'd create "the IMDB of video games" since noone else seemed interested. However, once I got over that initial jealousy, MobyGames became a frequently used resource.
