So I recently purchased this game, and the disc clearly has "For Win 95, Win 3.1 & DOS" printed on it. Yet there seems to be no executable for installing to DOS.

So I start digging around on the disc and I find this: DOS and Windows 3.1: Spider-Man must be installed from Windows 3.1 and then launched from DOS.

i) From the file manager, select the letter representing your CD-ROM drive. ii) Click Setup.exe from the CD to launch the installation program. Follow the program's instructions to finish the installation.

Isn't that the weirdest thing?

Weird as in stupid, yes. Weird as in unusual? Sadly, no.

Some shareware DOS games do the same thing - Windows installer for a DOS game and no other alternative. Some of them launch a Windows app on exit!
