On the cat DLC, when the jigsaw with the kittens is selected, the ginger cat puzzle comes on instead. When the ginger cat puzzle is completed, the medal goes under the the thumbnail of the kittens

Um... you might want to tell that to the developers of the game instead. We're a completely unrelated website.

They seem to be aware of some bugs, mentioned on the top of the page, but maybe you refer to a different puzzle.
