Development history

Them's Fightin' Herds began life as My Little Pony: Fighting Is Magic, a fangame based on Hasbro's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic cartoon. However, on February 8, 2013 the development team received a cease-and-desist letter from Hasbro's legal department. Consequently production was halted. The team proceeded to completely redo the game so as to get rid of all connections to the My Little Pony franchise. Lauren Faust, the creator of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, supported the fan effort and provided character designs for the new version of the game.
