Let's get started with this survey!
thumbnail
Before we get asked any questions, we must create a vessel for ourselves.
thumbnail
We can customize our vessel from a variety of body parts.
thumbnail
Thank you! I worked hard!
thumbnail
I wish it only the best.
thumbnail
That's... not a normal question, right?
thumbnail
Of course our vessel needs a name.
thumbnail
It's important to note that the vessel's name isn't your name. Those are different things.
thumbnail
Ah... our vessel.
thumbnail
And then, suddenly... we're somewhere completely different. Even the title bar changed.
thumbnail
Every household had one of those, I think.
thumbnail
It's only you, but who is that exactly?
thumbnail
You know, for boys.
thumbnail
Your bother, huh...?
thumbnail
The townspeople cheerfully wave at us as we pass by! This looks *almost* like somewhere we know, but not quite.
thumbnail
Mrs. Alphys seems pretty forgiving that Kris arrived this late, but it means they've missed out on partners for a group project.
thumbnail
Noelle seems up for making a group of three, but, just as she's asking the teacher...
thumbnail
...Susie appears. Everyone's intimidated by her, even the teacher.
thumbnail
Alphys sends Kris out with Susie to fetch more chalk from the supply closet. Look at this, they're making friends already!
thumbnail
...oh. Maybe not.
thumbnail
Something looks off about this supply closet...
thumbnail
The papers give way and we fall somewhere completely different. Where have we ended up...? And why are we dressed so differently?
thumbnail
Falling down more as we walk. There's no way to get back up.
thumbnail
These bits of scenery throw projectiles at Kris as they walk; the heart is their hitbox, just like in an Undertale battle.
thumbnail
It's Susie! So she fell down too.
thumbnail
Travelling further, we reach this strange and completely empty castle town.
thumbnail
I don't know who this hooded figure is, but they seem to know who we are.
thumbnail
The hooded figure tells us the legend that forms Deltarune's backstory.
thumbnail
Kris and Susie are two of the three figures from the legend. And the third... is the hooded prince we've just met.
thumbnail
This jerk! He interrupts our conversation to introduce himself as the villain... even though it's not really clear what he wants.
thumbnail
The first battle! Right away we can tell it's going to be different - we've got two characters, not just one.
thumbnail
Kris's actions work like in the first game, and so does sparing.
thumbnail
Susie doesn't listen to anyone else, and will go ahead and attack whenever she feels like it. Kris can warn the enemy to help them dodge attacks.
thumbnail
With the hood off, we meet our new friend properly. This is Ralsei!
thumbnail
I'm so glad.
thumbnail
With the training dummy, we learn about Ralsei's abilities. He has defensive magic, which can be used to pacify enemies or heal allies.
thumbnail
Some actions can involve more than one character. Here, hugging Ralsei uses a turn for both Kris and Ralsei.
thumbnail
With Ralsei's help, we're able to move on to the next area - the Field of Hopes and Dreams. But Susie ran off without us...
thumbnail
Uh oh. Looks like Susie's been through.
thumbnail
When we finally meet up with her again, she's been stopped dead in her tracks by a puzzle she can't solve on her own.
thumbnail
The first shop; this old cat seems pretty blasé about everything going on.
thumbnail
Honestly, Susie could probably teach Lancer a lesson or two...
thumbnail
The next area is through a chessfield; the chess pieces will jump off their stands to chase us.
thumbnail
Ralsei's lullaby puts enemies to sleep, but it's not just effective on enemies...
thumbnail
It actually doesn't look that very impressive, huh.
thumbnail
Oh, right, it reached the other end of the board...
thumbnail
Mine too.
thumbnail
Oh is THAT why they're everywhere?
thumbnail
Ralsei and Susie will comment on whatever pieces of equipment you give them, or if you try to unequip some items.
