The mission book, log and map are all hotspots
The mission book
The Campaign option is greyed out because this is a demo game
The in-game configuration options are considerable
This may only be a demo but there's plenty to play here!
The start of a mission. This is HMS Hood
Only two ships in this mission, HMS Hood and a French vessel
The status at the start of the mission
There's also a tactical battle map option
Clicking on the ship brings up a status report and command options.
More command options are available around the captain
We've taken some damage but the Nancy is dead in the water
The wind direction is important and the game informs us when it changes
Closing in on the French ship. She's lost all her masts
Here we have the option to board but the Nancy is a bigger ship - better to stand off and let the canon do their work
The choice of ammunition is being selected automatically
A change in the wind took HMS Hood right into the Nancy's guns
Game Over!
Both ships have surrendered but HMS Hood surrendered first and thus was captured by the French
The end of game stats show it was a close thing but the computer won
The end of mission report
There's a scroll bar on the right which indicates that the report could get pretty large in a majot fleet battle
The game comes with a detailed help file. Only in section six do we see a hex grid that shows this truly is a wargame
