thumbnail — Main menu. I've beaten the game already, so the first save slot is occupied by my save. Notice any lack of the configuration options here? Weird, isn't it?

thumbnail — If we start a new game, then introduction is given to us in an old school form by the means of a scrolling text. The character art here is good, though.

thumbnail — The dungeon art is quite nice as well. It's nothing beyond expectation, but it doesn't make your eyes bleed as well. Notice that tiny cog button in upper right?

thumbnail — And only after you've started a new game, watched the intro and got into the gameplay you get to finally click on that cog button where you're at long last are presented with the game options.

thumbnail — This is about entire information on how to play the game that is available to you beside the tiny tutorial prompts that pop up whenever something happens for the very first time.

thumbnail — Every dungeon that is part of the main quest will have a textual prompt when you enter the final room, often containing crucial points to understand what is going on at all.

thumbnail — Poor Wood Elf was left to be tortured by these awful Beastmen. Save her!

thumbnail — After you defeat every enemy in the final room and are done with the dungeon, the loading screen will also serve to advance the plot a bit more, opening up the next location to visit.

thumbnail — Global map. I've switched back to the Middenland here, so every location is open, plus a lot of side quests is unlocked as well.

thumbnail — Just like in side of a dungeon, you can pan, rotate and zoom the global map to be presented with whichever point of view you desire. Note the route that game plotted for me.

thumbnail — Imperial capitol, the City of Altdorf. All of the main locations in the game are presented in a very Game of Throne-ish style.

thumbnail — If the location has a tavern, then you can go in to hire new members for you party, and dismiss those you no longer need. Note how much this vampire costs to hire at his level?

thumbnail — And how cheap in comparison is my ogre at his level and with his gear?

thumbnail — If the location has a place to barter, then you're welcome to the trade screen. I've deliberately put two of the same thing both for sale and for purchase to show how the pricing works. It's static.

thumbnail — When you trigger the main quest at a new location, a chunk of the text will give you an idea on what seems to be the problem.

thumbnail — And upon reaching that dungeon that you've just unlocked, suspense will be built up...

thumbnail — The game won't stop with being gory and grim for a moment as well, reminding you that Warhammer world is a tough one every two minutes.

thumbnail — Travel events happen, obviously, when you're moving between two locations on the map. They range from ambushes to stat checks. In this one we get our vampire into the party.

thumbnail — If we manage to defeate the Beastmen who want to eat him for dinner, though.

thumbnail — The dungeons will remind about incursion from the Realm of Chaos itself more often than not.

thumbnail — Do you like rats?

thumbnail — Don't repeat my mistakes - at lower levels torch is a problem!

thumbnail — A rare instance of the rewards from the dungeon being more than junk. Still it's not enough with the local economy, especially because every level up costs some gold.

thumbnail — "Guys, drinking is bad for your health!" said my vampire before getting run through with spears from afar.

thumbnail — Each and every major location has its own, unique style and art, kept as close to the lore as possible. It's the amount of services that will vary.

thumbnail — Nurgle's crest hidden on the wall bodes nothing good ahead.

thumbnail — Who will win the fight? Blood Knight, who is afraid of the fire, but has a flask of water, or the herd leader with a magical burning mace?

thumbnail — This is your party interface. You can customize the look of your characters here, namely, their clothing colours unless they're wearing special outfits with their fixed styles.

thumbnail — Soon enough, real daemons will start to join the fight.

thumbnail — Ambush is the situation, where more often then not you can't even choose who of your characters will fight, so keep them well geared up all the time.

thumbnail — Bunch of Gors. This can at least be won on the lower levels with just two people, unlike Trolls or Minotaurs...

thumbnail — The game does have some bugs. Now if the defense this shield provides would grow with its size as well..

thumbnail — A Minotaur ambushed us right behind the party, that is mostly weak mages. Awesome...

thumbnail — However, some of those mages cook a mean roastbeef...

thumbnail — Party selection screen before entering a dungeon. Featuring Grave Guard from the update and a camera shy vampire.

thumbnail — Some of the locations in the game are plain creepy looking.

thumbnail — A huge herdstone inside of a cave needs to be cracked to complete the first part of the game.

thumbnail — And when you do manage that, you're being rewarded with a new strong party member for free. I've immediately sold him for nice clinky coin.

thumbnail — And you're also told why you would want to another County that had just been unlocked for you.

thumbnail — Do you like armed rats? Or diseases spreading armed rats?

thumbnail — One more ambush, and the enemies would not be able to move.

thumbnail — What do you mean I've said trolls are problem? Trolls are meat to feed our ogre!

thumbnail — A Skaven Gray Seer.

thumbnail — Final offer - do you like some frozen rat maybe?

thumbnail — That Skaven Warlord is actually bigger trouble than their Gray Seer.

thumbnail — In the last region everything is different. Interiors and crowds.

thumbnail — People change too.

thumbnail — I won't even mention that the daemons change for sure as well. Good luck hitting those.
