Microbe: The Anatomical Adventure

In Microbe: The Anatomical Adventure, you control a submarine crew which shrinks down to microscopic size to be injected into a human patient, and treat medical problems which cannot be addressed through standard therapy.

The player controls a crew of four: a captain, a physician, a technician, and a navigator. The player has a limited time frame to approach the correct zone of the body, and repair the damage which is causing the patient's life to be in jeopardy. As the player travels, they will be randomly attacked by the immune system, where the player must shoot down the attacking bodies in a top-down shooting game, where the ship can move left to right in the bottom of the screen. If the attacking threats are not properly dealt with, the submarine takes damage, and certain aspects of the ship will become inoperable.

The ship's movement is limited by fuel, battery power, and air. Batter power affects laser shots. Fuel affects ship movement, and air directly promotes survival of crew. Air and battery power must be replenished at specific locations including the lungs, kidney, and liver. The technician allows for repairs of the ship, while the navigator allows examination of the human body map. The physician is imperative for doing medical work upon reaching the site of crisis. The ship is also equipped with 42 separate medical devices, including: Anti-immunogens, anti-virals, antibiotics, anti-parasitics, anti-fungals, and an emergency kit. There are also technical devices including a defibrillator, which allows for safe passage through the heart, and an X-ray machine.

Ultimately, if the crew is able to navigate to the site of disease, and correctly treat the impending disaster, they will be victorious in their mission.
