Music Inc

Music Inc. is a music production simulation game jointly developed by UK Music, the Intellectual Property Office and Aardman Animations.

The aim of the game is to show gamers how the music industry works. This is done by giving gamers a first hand experience of managing new artists, writing music for them, handling the promotion, touring and leisure of the artists recruited, as well as dealing with legal aspects of the business.

The player starts out in their bedroom and, after earning enough money, has a chance to upgrade their HQ. If players are running short on money, they can get a loan from the bank, but they will be required to pay it back with interest.

The game has a lot of random events, such as artists getting into legal trouble, copyright infringement issues, which will put the financial situation of players to the test, especially if players haven't recruited additional staff members to assist them.

The game features mini-games which make use of the multi-touch screens of the devices when the player's artists are writing songs. These games are Simon Says, tap all the buttons that pop up on the screen at the same time, making a chord and a Guitar Freaks like mini-game where the buttons are scrolling upwards and players must tap them before they disappear. The better results players get at these mini-games, the better the song they're writing would be. The mini-game score also affects the time it takes for your artist to write a song.

One of the game's sub-aims is to show how piracy harms the music industry, and players will see just how many pirated downloads each track by their artists had gotten, as well as how much money they've lost due to piracy.
