Title screen
We're inside the clinic now. You can walk around here in real-time 3D and use different computer interfaces.
There's the training simulator interface where you can practice without consequences
This computer just shows the high scores. (A bit macabre, really, considering you're supposed to heal patients...)
You can exit the game by using the keypad next to the airlock door
First you have to register as the new virtual surgeon.
Your statistics at the beginning of the game (with a newly registered virtual surgeon).
Choose a patient from the patients list...
... and you'll get a screen with some information about the patient. (Sometimes the descriptions are quite ridiculous. This game has some strange humor...)
As soon as you've picked a patient, a cutscene shows the body being transported into the body scanner.
Then the computer scans the patient's brain...
... and naturally, it always finds a virus.
Now the real game starts. You're transported into the virtual world of the patient's mind.
This virtual environment of a patient's mind is always modeled after ancient Rome. (Probably because the virus originated in today's Rome, according to the game's story.)
You need to find these huge light bulbs that represent the patient's ideas.
Thankfully, you can look at the map by pressing the F8 key. On the far right you can see how many times you can view the map. (Collect walkie talkies in order to raise that number.)
Enemies will pop up, too. This one's a snake. By pressing the space bar, you can enter attack mode and then shoot Ankhs by pressing the right mouse button.
Here's a giant spider.
You can only enter buildings that are marked as red spots on the map. (Open the door by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse horizontally.)
The buildings are furnished quite nicely.
You can open drawers (which are usually empty), cupboards, fridges and wardrobes in order to collect items. Here are the Ankhs that represent your ammunition.
There's a clock in here which extends your time. Yes, you're on a time limit in these virtual worlds. It's generous but enemies can deplete your remaining time by quite a bit!
When you've collected an idea, you can enter this screen in order to fully materialize the idea: Connect the nodes correctly, so that the photo in the top right corner is clearly visible...
... it will still waver a LOT, so you need to adjust the different frequencies so that it becomes solid.
Then you must hang the fully materialized idea/painting in the correct place in the correct building.
There aren't usually that many accessible houses and the form of the red rectangle is an indication as to which painting belongs there.
Some walls don't have textures...
... others do.
There are also some grassy areas in this world.
Another idea out in the open! Sometimes they disappear and appear somewhere else, too.
When you've found, materialized and placed all ideas on the correct walls, the mission is a success.
A short cutscene plays in which the patient's body is removed from the scanner. On to the next one!
After the first 3 successful missions, you advance to the rank of assistant.
You can still heal patients of the previous level, but in order to advance in rank, you'll need to play 6 missions of your current level.
Another strange description of a patient.
Who came up with these?
There's also a low-resolution mode available.
Are we missing some important screenshots?
