Inspiration
The game plot is loosely based on the 1977 movie, starring Roger Moore as James Bond. The story has no resemblance to original Ian Fleming novel; according to unofficial "the Bond Files" only the title could be used, not any part of the plot from the book.
Sales
The Kremlin who was a company that helped create The Spy Who Loved Me used the 3.5" disks from the game as work disks because it sold poorly and there were lots of returns. This is the reason why a DOS port of this game is rather rare.
