Description

Bloodhound is a 1-player arcade game for the Apple II.

The player controls a small man who can move in all directions, but can only fire vertically. Played from a top-down perspective on a single screen, the player starts in a small jail cell in the bottom left of the screen, and can escape by shooting the door. After escaping, there are two bloodhounds they must shoot. When the dogs are shot, the player progresses to the next level, which brings the hounds and gate back to life, but the player stays in the same position. Because the player can only shoot vertically, there is no way to advance to the third level. If the player touches a hound, a wall, or even a dog's corpse, they lose a life. Despite the life counter on the top of the screen, the player only ever has one life.
