Genius 2: Into the Toy Caves

Genius 2: Into the Toy Caves is an arcade game for the Apple II.

Genius, a young and clever drummer accidentally finds a passage to the world of dreams, and discovers the secrets of the dream creation process. Entities called Twinspirits allow fantasies to flow into the human mind during their sleep. Episode 2 focuses on Genius' adventures in the toy caves, where all children's toy fantasies arise. Genius must explore a total of 8 caves of 10 levels, with the goal to find the penultimate target toy cave on each level. The player must ultimately rescue the Little Prince on the final level of the final cave.

The player controls a character who can move in the four cardinal directions. He must collect keys in order, with each key opening a single door on the level. The goal on each level is to reach the Target Toy, which advances the player to the next level. Locked doors are shown as purple, while doors that can be opened are white. Monsters hide behind doors, and must be evaded. All monsters on a level can be destroyed if the player picks up a stick of dynamite which appears on the level. The player has a total of 10 lives, and when all are lost its game over.
