Thomas & Friends: Trouble on the Tracks screenshots

The game starts with the player creating a player id, or selecting one that was created previously

The game follows a story which begins with Sir Topham Hatt receiving a telephone call. The trains have very little coal and something needs to be done.

James rushes off to fetch more coal from the mine but he has an accident

The main menu. The Fat Controller is there to help, clicking on Thomas continues the story, the book goes to the Fat Controller's office where all the certificates are and the island lets the mini games be played in any order

The first mini game is to use Harold to find James who has come off the line somewhere. The player moves the mouse and Harold flies in the direction of the arrow

The trains are short of coal so Lorry has to fetch some. Here the player has to position the lorry so that it catches coal as it falls from the conveyor belts. Tools come down the belts too and they have to be avoided

Thomas has brought the crane to lift James back onto the track but it was a bumpy journey and the cogs have fallen off. This mini game is about putting them back in their correct places

This is an elimination game. James needs a new whistle. There are four whistles here and three of them sound like the whistles of the trains in the shed, eliminate those and the one that is left is for James

Thomas is collecting James' replacement parts from the docks. The player has to put pairs of crates into the troublesome trucks so that their combined weight puts both arrows into the green zone

Another elimination game. Match the lamps with their shadows, the one that is left belongs to James

James is in the engine shed for repairs. His new bumper, lamp, window and whistle have to be installed then his wheels need tightening and oiling. Finally he needs a new coat of red paint

Before James can go back to work he needs his water tank and tender filling up

Finally coal is added to the fire, the throttle is opened and James can go on his way

The line drawings can be printed so that they can be coloured in. The coloured pictures become an on-screen jigsaw
