Satellite Down!: Rescue Adventures in Geography
Description
Satellite Down!: Rescue Adventures in Geography is an educational geography game for the Apple II.
In the past 20 minutes, we have lost control of a series of satellites that are used to monitor specific regions of the Earth. We believe some of these satellites have fallen from orbit, but continue to function from their crash sites. We are receiving coded data transmissions from the many monitoring systems on board each spacecraft. However, foreign agents can also monitor these transmissions and recover the satellite before we are able to.
The player's goal is to interpret small snippets of data transmission from each satellite to determine the last known location of the spacecraft. They are rewarded financially for the rapidity if which each is located and recovered.
The player can view video transmissions, local climate, animal, and plant samples, as well as economic activity, radio broadcasts, and natural landmarks of the country in question. Based on this information, the player attempts to guess the country, and if they are correct, they are financially rewarded. There are two difficulty levels available.
