Comparing the stage select portraits of these Robot Masters with those of the other Mega Man games:

Blade Man resembles Metal Man from Mega Man 2, Bit Man is similar to Hard Man from Mega Man 3, Wave Man looks like Air Man from Mega Man 2 and has the same name as a robot master in Mega Man 5, and Oil Man looks like a red Flash Man from Mega Man 2.

Cover art

The cover art is taken from the NES version of Mega Man 3, however the robot depicted (Spark Man) fighting Mega Man is not present in this game.
