Description

Strategy Simulations is a series of unlicensed strategy games for a variety of systems

The Apple II version contains 4 games, all of which are space-themed:

Space Trek - Which is a Star Trek variant, where the player controls the USS Enterprize. The player's goal is to destroy all Klingon vessels in the surrounding star systems within 26 days. The player has a limited supply of phasors and photon torpedoes, and must travel to and explore different quadrants of space looking for enemies.

Galactic Empires - Up to 20 players compete to take over as many planets as possible in a randomly generated galaxy in a finite number of turns. Each player builds a set number of ships in their home planet each turn, and these ships are sent in fleets to conquer or protect alien planets.

Star Rebels - A 1 - 2 player space fighting game. Each player has 8 vessels, and the Rebels attempt to line up the small exhaust port on the Death Star to drop a torpedo. The Imperial player attempts to destroy 8 vessels before this happens. If the Rebels fail, the planet Yavin is destroyed.

Star Traders - A 2- 4 player interstellar stock trading game, players take turns placing pieces on a 12 x 9 board, and if 2 pieces are placed beside each other, a company is formed. Players are given 5 random locations to place a piece each turn. The player can buy or sell stocks in these companies, and if adjacent pieces are placed next to the company, the company grows in size and the stock price increases. The goal is to maximize profit.

The Atari 8-but version contains 4 different games:

Robot Patrol - The player controls a robot who must travel to the 9 planets and their moon to capture 10 criminals in a limited time frame. The player can move towards or away from the sun, and must scan each location for a criminal. The player can employ 3 different weapons with varying energy requirements and accuracy to capture the criminal.

Star Merchant - An interstellar trading game, where the player must move to different ports with their vessel, buying and selling items for profit. Fuel, docking, and crew costs are subtracted every time the player visits a port. Contraband can lead to high profit, but a risk of losing everything.

Civil War - A text-based US Civil War simulator, the player controls the Confederacy, and most allot money to their food, ammunition, and salaries, which directly effects their war readiness. The player can choose from 4 types of attacks and defensive maneuvers to counteract the Union. Success depends on choosing the correct maneuver based upon enemy moves.

Convoy - You serve as a naval lieutenant, with the goal of escorting 15 convoy vessels and a destroyer from Britain to a port in Russia to supply relief against the Nazis. Along the way, the player can encounter Nazi submarine and air attacks. During these attacks, the player has several minigames, where they attempt to shoot down planes or hunt submarines. If they are unsuccessful, ships and supplies are lost.
