Pirate's Plunder
Description
Pirate's Plunder is a non-canonical mix of a memory game spiced along with action elements. The main objective of the game is to gather the ten hidden treasures and survive the various dangers along the way.
Movement is tile-based and the player can only move one tile in any direction. Traveling to a hidden tile may reveal a treasure, an enemy, various hazards, helpful items or a blank space. Whenever a enemy is uncovered, a battle automatically starts and the player can only make use of the various weapons available at the time. The player can restock weapons and repair the ship by taking supplies form the nearby islands.
The memory game aspect comes into play due to 3 helpful items: the map which reveals the closest treasure, the sextant which reveals the nearby threats and the spyglass which uncovers a 9x9 portion for a short period. Memorizing these hints offers the player the upper advantage as health pick-ups are limited.
Pirate's Plunder is part of a bundle of games named Fortune Pack. The pack includes four games: Fortune Raiders, Pirate's Plunder, Desert Curse and Cash Quest. Pirate's Plunder and Fortune Raiders were made available as shareware games. Registering the games would have given the user access to the whole pack.
