Defend

Defend is a 1-player side-scrolling arcade game for the TRS-80.

The player controls a spaceship which can move in all directions, and is able to fire forwards. The ship is further armed with a limited supply of smart bombs, which can be used to destroy a large field of enemy vessels. There are 3 levels of difficulty, and each is divided into 3 stages. During the first stage, the player must fight alien creatures while avoiding their return fire. A radar screen shows the location of incoming aliens. In the second and third stage, the ship's weapons are disabled. In the second stage, the player must dodge incoming meteorites, and in the final stage the player must navigate a series of tight tunnels. The player starts with 5 ships, and it's game over if all are lost. A new ship and smart bomb is awarded every 10,000 points.
