Description
Microzine is an educational disk-based magazine published by Scholastic between 1983 and 1992. Each issue generally contains a simple adventure game, often with a Choose Your Own Adventure Style. Issue no. 3 contains:
- What's Inside - A review of the contents of the magazine
- Mystery at Pinecrest Manor - Choose your own adventure where the player has been invited to his Uncle Ralph's home in coastal Maine to see the unveiling of a newly acquired Egyptian statue. You meet a number of other people there for the unveiling, and then later go to sleep. The next morning, the statue has been stolen. You must visit the other rooms of the manor to gather clues about who committed the theft. After gathering all the clues, you must name the thief and the location of the hidden statue.
- Computer Stuff - Program for setting up a data disk
- Tag - Arcade game where the player must tag five opponents while trying to avoid a moving electrical net.
- Bookstore - A database of popular children's books that the player can search based upon topic
- Amazing Robot - The player must navigate a robot through a maze by typing in movement commands
