Description

Nendoroland, a world unlike our own. For years, the various characters have lived in peace and prosperity. However, one day, at a Nendoro Academy, an unknown event happens that causes people to become overflowing with sadness and anger. A lone heroine, Black Rock Shooter, along with other companions from all over their world, embark on a quest that will change their world forever.

Nendoroid Generation is a crossover Japanese RPG game, based on the toy line by Good Smile Company, that produces SD (super-deformed) or chibi versions of characters from popular anime, manga and game franchises. It is a straightforward Japanese RPG, with simple gameplay and mechanics. Players control their party of three characters: 2 main characters, divided into melee or ranged, and a "performer", that can help the party by giving stat boosts during a battle. Players control their party members, wander around levels, collect items, talk to people and complete quests that progress the story. Combat is initiated through random encounters.

There are two interesting gimmicks to the genre. The first one is the "crystal" system. Crystals represent character's willpower. Each attack or move consumes some part of them. When they reach zero, characters suffer a "crash" and are incredibly vulnerable to enemy attack. To replenish them, performers can perform dances that give them the necessary energy to fight again. Another system is the costume system. By defeating enemies with an all-out attack, players receive costumes or other pieces of clothing that upgrades their party's stats, as well as provide a rich variety of customization. The game has a very lighthearted and humorous tone.
