Huang Dao Qiusheng

You are an avid explorer, travelling around the world to explore the unknown and unsolved secrets of the earth. But, a careful plan cannot prevent unforeseen dangers. Your ship sank and you wake up on the beach on a small island. Not knowing where you are, hunger, fear, and loss threatens to defeat you. But the island is rich in resources - if you are diligent enough, self-sufficiency is possible. You can build your own home, resist the invasion of wild animals, and operate your own pastures and farms. More in-depth exploration of the island will make you shudder - the vague whispers you heard about it were more than just stories. The strange events that follow will excite and worry you, but the subsequent discovery gives you the possibility to escape. To survive, you must learn planting, animal husbandry, medicine, manufacturing tools, and building weapons. To escape, you must learn astronomy and geography.

Huang Dao Qiu Sheng (which roughly translates to "Desert Island Survival") is a survival sim about a castaway who must try to survive being marooned on a desert island, with escape as the ultimate goal. The game mostly consists of menus in which the player selects the actions he wishes to perform, though some locations on the island are fully illustrated and are able to be "explored" by the player (who is represented by an icon travelling across the image in these scenes). The player can scavenge items from each area to use to craft weapons and equipment. Illness, injuries, and extreme temperatures will cause the player's health points to diminish, with the game ending if the health meter reaches 0. Sleeping restores health and energy, but increases hunger. The player can hunt animals for food, but must be careful to keep the environment in balance, or else he may incur a famine.
