The title screen and main menu
Both Trap Them and Trap Them: Sniper Edition use the same artwork, format and, I think, music
thumbnail
The mission briefing is identical to Trap Them: Sniper Edition
thumbnail
The in game configuration options
Note there is an option to play in full screen or windowed modes
thumbnail
Starting a game.
There are no difficulty settings so we start at the top and see how far we get
thumbnail
This is the inside of the mountain. As we progress on down through more and more caves it becomes a map allowing us to revisit and replay any cave we have visited
thumbnail
The first set of levels are tutorials. Each level is preceded by up to four screens of help text. Pay attention to them
thumbnail
The basic controls. Note that a gamepad is supported
thumbnail
This is the first level. All the player has to do here is navigate around the screen and avoid falling blocks
thumbnail
At the end of every cave the player is given a score. The game keeps a record of these scores and the payer can replay any cave at any tome to try and improve their score
thumbnail
These are what the player is trying to collect
thumbnail
This is the first level with enemies. Each red line shows their line of sight. Once we cross one of those lines they will chase us
thumbnail
As well as enemies that give chase there are bombs to contend with but we can place bombs of our own
thumbnail
If any bomb explodes it's the end of the level. That means no brown blocks can fall on the blue bombs and the player can never be in the line of sight of the red bombs
thumbnail
These star things patrol the surfaces. Note there are no crystals here so we have to make them .... somehow
thumbnail
Finally there are the collectors who will rob the player of any crystals they have collected
thumbnail
Still working down the mountain. The picture in the upper right shows that we've played that cave
thumbnail
Now things start to get hard. How to get the crystals from the right and left chambers when they are guarded by mines?
