Stop The Ogre In Its Tracks

Challenge the Ogre, a cybernetic supertank programmed to coldly annihilate anything in its path. Set on 21st century battlefields, this game of strategy is for either one or two players.

Conventional forces such as nuclear-armed tanks, speed vehicles, howitzers and infantry must be skilfully deployed to defend a command post. The composition and placement of units is critical in destroying the Ogre which has multiple weapon systems and trick armour plating.

Ogre is an adaption of the classic board game by Steve Jackson. It epitomizes simplicity and play balance, yet is far from simple to win. A game editor allows computer warriors to design their own wasteland battlefields, ensuring long-term player appeal.

  • 1-2 player strategy game
  • Numerous programmed playfields
  • Facility to design unlimited original playfields
  • Various Ogre skill levels
  • Menu driven for ease of use
  • Superb sound effects
  • 1-2 hours of playing time

OGRE

In the 21st Century, where battlefields are dominated by speedy hovercraft and heavily armored tanks that hurl tactical nuclear devices across miles of crater and rubble-strewn terrain, there is one tank that is more terrifying than all the others: the OGRE.
The OGRE is a cybernetic tank - a fighting machine completely controlled by computers - a killer robot with a passionless intelligence that knows everything about efficient destruction and nothing about fear or mercy.
A computer strategy game for one or two players, OGRE® is an adaptation of the Steve Jackson board game of the same name. Epitomizing simplicity and play balance, OGRE® has one player defend a command post with a variety of conventional forces while the opponent attempts to overrun the command post using a single OGRE. In the one player version the computer controls the OGRE against the human's defense forces.
Computer OGRE® can be played using joystick, mouse, or keyboard and features a system of windows and easy-to-use pull-down menus to permit the player to design custom battlefields by placing craters and rubble on the field at will and setting up the playing pieces in any desired configuration.

OGRE® is a registered trade mark of Steve Jackson Games, Incorporated

Using the RANGE option, a heavy tank considers its move and fire range.

A system of easy to use pull-down menus and windows permits the player to customize and edit the playfield at any time during play.
