Trivia
BPjS
On July 29, 1989, Veteran was put on the infamous German index by the BPjS. For more information about what this means and to see a list of games sharing the same fate, take a look here: BPjS/BPjM indexed games.
Sampled speech in the ST version
The in-game sampled speech uttered by the soldier that pops up just in front of you, is in Croatian. The voice most likely belongs to Čedomir Igaly or Janko Mršic-Flögel, the coders of the game. The following sentences are uttered (thanks to Tanja Schpider for translating):
- "Majku li ti bandidsku", which translates to "I'd do your Bandit mother".
- "Ja pogibo" which is "I've been hit!".
- "Mirko, Pazi Metak!" which means "Mirko, Watch out, Bullet!"
The sampled speech in the Amiga version is in English and is almost as hard to make out as in the ST version!
Digitized graphics
The big soldier sprite that pops up from time to time aiming a gun at you bears an uncanny resemblance to the games graphics artist Alan Tomkins.
