Dizzy right after being transported in time. This root will prove important in a very ironic way.
After crossing a small cave (and unavoidably getting dirty - Daisy wouldn't like it!), Dizzy arrives at the port.
Notice the life bar (under the word "Dizzy" in large red letters) - it is very interesting and different from most Dizzy games.
Daisy's present was teleported together with Dizzy. Now he needs to open it anyway and use the scuba gear he bought for Daisy...
The game has some interesting light effects when Dizzy wanders through the caves with a lantern.
The mine cart ride is clearly inspired by "Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy", but more complex - unlike in the original game, it crosses a wider variety of terrain...
...such as water, lava... This sequence is complex enough that it didn't work well on my antepenultimate (pre-previous) computer with Windows XP - lava bursts appeared as yellow rectangles.
End of the mine cart ride.
This section is clearly inspired by the "Monkey Island" series... ;)
A totem pole in the natives' village . a coin is hidden in one of its segments.
Press enter next to the coffins in the church crypt to read epitaphs. I love this idea, it reminds me of some classic adventure games.
As usual, Dizzy can get... well, dizzy after falling and stumbling. This time the animation is more colourful.
The governor's gardens are generally beautifully drawn.
A gardener's shed next to the mansion.
Sonner or later you will need to return from that part of the area with a boat. It is a bit of a simple minigame by itself, the river is somewhat maze-like.
The nearest boat stop for the starting area is next to the woodworker's cabin.
Inside the fort. Doesn't this sleepy soldier look like Dizzy's cousin Dozy?...
A section of the underground caves - shining crystals allow recognising the paths easily.
The governor's mansion from the front.
A scary sequence - Dizzy has to die (note the changed appearance of the life bar), come back to life and pass through the underworld...
...The admin of Dizzy.pl used to hack games and apply cheats such as immortality to simplify testing my walkthroughs...
...and in case of this game, he just got stuck on this sequence. Despite the inconvenience, he was really fascinated by the solution...
...he wrote to me: "The game actually kills Dizzy and only then proceeds to check why it happened!".
Dizzy learns that he could have returned to present immediately by pulling the root... Now he needs to find a new one and use magic to make it hold. ;)
