Jeffrey Wittenhagen's Black Box Challenge

Moby ID: 174149

Description

Jeffrey Wittenhagen's Black Box Challenge is a role-playing game similar to the Japanese RPGs that existed on the NES during its heyday. Like any RPG, the main character levels up and acquires new skills and items. Unlike most RPGs, the overarching goal is to acquire a complete set of NES "black box" games. As the player acquires each game, they can play a mini-game inspired by it on their in-game NES, and thereby acquire new skills to use in the main quest.

The game had multiple releases and editions via Kickstarter.
