Corsair
- Corsair (1990 on Commodore 64)
Description official description
Corsair is a fixed-screen shooter in which the player either takes the role of the defending Camariam Consortium or the attacking Valaxus Empire. The Camarians use small and fast fighters called Corsair which use the classic Asteroids controls: The ship keeps its momentum and the player can use thrust to accelerate into the ships current alignment which can be changed by rotating the ship. It also governs the direction of the shots. However, in contrast to Asteroids, the ship can also brake and strafe. The Valaxus Empire uses Decimators instead. These ships are almost as big as the screen and therefore has very restricted movement. It is also equipped with four turrets which can be individually rotated and fired.
Whichever mode is chosen, the goal is always to kill the opposing forces within a time limit to earn a high score. The fight is always one Decimator against four Corsair.
