Qix
- QIX (1981 on Arcade, 1983 on Atari 8-bit, Atari 5200...)
Description
Qix is a 1-player unofficial port of Qix for the VIC-20.
The player guides a marker, initially on the edges of the screen, to divide the playing field into rectangles or other unusual shapes to claim territory. The smallest area contained by each shape is filled in when a shape is connected at two points to existing territory. While claiming territory, the player needs to watch out for enemies which follow pre-existing lines, and actively chase the player if close. A level is completed by gaining all territory on the screen, dividing the remaining areas into smaller and smaller components. The player starts with 4 lives, and it's game over when touched by an enemy 4 times.
