The Great Word Game

The Great Word Game is a 2 - 4 player word puzzle game for the TRS-80 CoCo.

Players compete to outguess their opponent's words. Each player chooses an English word up to 12 characters, and can't use proper names or hyphenated words. Players guess letters one at a time, and if the word has the same letter more than once, then they're revealed from left to right. The players can also add and guess blank spaces. Players gain 10 points for each letter correctly guessed, and 50 points for guessing the last letter of a word. Players gain 10 points for each unrevealed letter plus a bonus if a word is guessed correctly, but loses 50 points if incorrectly guessed. When one player solves a word, the other has 2 turns to guess their word, otherwise the successful solver gains a further bonus.
