Interplanetary Trader
- Interplanetary Trader (1984 on Dragon 32/64, 1985 on Amstrad CPC)
Description
Interplanetary Trader is a space-themed trading game for the Dragon 32/64.
The player must travel between star systems buying and selling cargo for profit. There are 12 different types of cargo available at each destination, and the player has limited funds to pay for fuel, cargo, and transportation fees between star systems.
At each planet, the player must choose the acceleration and deceleration factor estimate while going to or from the surface. This involves choosing the number that is 1/25th the total thrust or retro required. If this is chosen incorrectly, there is a chance of instant destruction.
When star jumping between systems, the player must choose a route, which have different travel times, fuel requirements, and dangers. Each day of movement there is a chance of dangerous events, which typically require rolling a random number between 1–1000, requiring a specific score to escape safely.
