Creepies / To Boldly Go

Creepies / To Boldly Go is a collection of two separate gems, an arcade game and a text adventure for the Dragon 32/64.

In Creepies, the player controls a space ship at the bottom of the screen that attempts to shoot incoming alien vessels before they take damage. The ship moves laterally left and right at the bottom of the screen, and fires vertically upwards. The goal is to destroy all enemies each level, and the enemies faced become tougher with each new wave. The player starts with crawlers, but then must face mad moths, spiders, hover flies, tracker bats, super bugs, and eventually tarantulas, bombardier beetles and then scorpions. The player starts with three lives.

To Boldly Go is a text adventure where the player takes the role of the four main crew of the USS Enterprise: Admiral James T. Kirk, Captain Spock, Doctor McCoy, and Commander Montgomery Scott. The player can change between the characters at any time, and each character has specific abilities for different situations. Admiral Kirk has been tasked with visiting the outpost on Omicron 5 to investigate a small island with an unusual radiation signature. Starting aboard the Enterprise, the crew must explore the planet's surface. All commands are via VERB NOUN command, and there is a save/restore feature.
