Description official description

Full Void is a 2D cinematic platformer shown from a side view and set in a dystopian world. Players control an unnamed and voiceless teenage protagonist and hacker who is hunted down by rogue AI. Visually it uses hand-drawn pixel art with a moody tone and focuses on puzzle solving with action elements. The game world is largely linear and consists of fixed screen environments linked together. Usually a puzzle needs to be solved or a problem needs to be overcome to progress through a next screen.

Enemies need to be avoided or tricked, using stealth or destroying them through environmental hazards as the character has no means to attack. Puzzles often involve platforming, levers, interacting with the environment and using hacking skills in various ways to control mechanical elements in the game world. The story is told indirectly through events in the background, encounters and short flashbacks, but soon it becomes apparent the teenager wants to find out what has happened to all the children in the city. There are also minor 3D elements. The character dies often, but is revived right away to start over at a checkpoint. There are short cinematic death sequences and a few scares and sudden events, but no horror or gruesome elements. Similar to Limbo or Inside, they are mostly used to show how alone and weak the protagonist is in the environment.

Mechanically and visually it draws a lot of inspiration from the original Prince of Persia and Another World, both cited as direct influences. Mechanically this is apparent through the movement. There is a lot of platforming with fluent motions for running, swinging, daring jumps, hanging from ledges and crawling, but like in those two games the character is often 'locked' into an animation when it is started, meaning movement is more of a sequence of planned actions than instant control with quick turns or reflexes.
