Kira☆Kira is a Japanese adult romance visual novel which chronicles the lives of the members of a high-school band. The player controls Shikanosuke Maejima, an ordinary high school student who lived a mundane existence until he encountered the free-spirited and rebellious girl Kirari Shiino, who introduced him to the world of rock 'n' roll. Together with Kirari, his childhood friend Chie Isurugi, and Kirari's friend Sarina Kashiwara, Shikanosuke forms a band called d2b, ready to take on the world. But as he soon discovers, nothing worth doing is ever easy, and he and his friends encounter hardships and even tragedies on their way to success.

As players progress through the narrative, they are presented with pivotal choices that shape the direction of the story. Depending on their decisions, players can witness the profound impact of their actions on Shikanosuke and his bandmates' lives, as well as the relationships they form with various characters throughout the game. The game contains unique story routes for Kirari, Chie, and Sarina, in which Shikanosuke may begin a romantic relationship with the character in question. The game features voice acting for all significant characters except the protagonist, and includes sexual content by default which was edited out of some versions of the game.
