Lachlan!

Lachlan! is a fantasy adventure with roleplaying elements for the Dragon 32/64.

The player accepts the King's challenge and goes forth into the lands of the sorcerer Lachlan.

The player explores the overworld by moving through a fixed screen of mountain, forest, and open plain. The player randomly encounters combat or treasure during their exploration, and these locations are left marked on the map. If entering combat, the player combat strength is displayed on a horizontal bar, and a marker randomly appears on this. The player's goal is to press the button when the counter is in the right location to score a hit, or in turn receive damage.

As the player explores, they have limited food supplies that must be replenished. Food and healing can be purchased at the market. Spells can be purchased from the wizard's hut in the middle of the land, which can provide increased strength, escape from combat, or even armor. The final most expensive spell allows the player to enter combat with Lachlan the sorcerer.
