King's Field III: Pilot Style
Description
Pilot Style is a prologue scenario for King's Field III, set 10 years before the events of that game. The player controls Lord Silviera, who returns to find his garrison overrun and all his soldiers killed, and who must recover the stolen Moonlight Sword.
The game was given away at the 1996 Tokyo Game Show to promote the then-recent Japanese release of King's Field III, and includes a unique scenario not found in the retail game. Gameplay is largely identical to other King's Field games; the biggest difference is that the game does not allow saving, and so death does not reset progress and merely sets the player back to a specific location. The game takes less than an hour to finish, and upon completion, a trailer for King's Field III is played.

Fan Translation
An unofficial English translation of King's Field III: Pilot Style was released in June 2012. It was translated by John Osborne, who had previously also created an unofficial translation of the original Japan-only King's Field game.
