13 Out

13 Out is a solitaire card game played with a standard 52-card deck. It is a variant of the solitaire game "Canfield". The objective is to move all cards to the four foundation piles, each built of 13 cards of increasing value and of the same suit.

The game begins with one card dealt into the first of the foundation piles, determining the starting rank for all foundations. For example, if a 9 is dealt, each foundation must start with a 9 and continue sequentially, cycling through the deck. An available card can be placed on a foundation pile at any time, but once placed there, it can no longer be removed.

Below the foundation piles is a tableau of four piles, each pile initially containing a single face-up card. Each pile of the tableau can be extended with cards of descending value (King is considered one lower than Ace) and alternating colors. An empty tableau pile can be filled with any available card. Cards can be moved between the tableau piles, singly or in groups. However, only the top card of each tableau pile can be moved to a foundation pile.

Additionally, a reserve pile of 13 cards is set up at the beginning. At any time, only the top card of this reserve is visible and available for play.

The remainder of the deck forms a stockpile. The player can turn over cards from this stockpile, in a way which depends on the chosen gameplay mode: it can be one card at a time, or three cards at a time, where only the topmost revealed card is available for play.
