North Wind

North Wind is a Japanese adult romance visual novel set in the fictional village of Nanakurachō in the Tōhoku region of Japan. The player controls Makoto Akizuki, a young man who was born in Nanakurachō but has spent the last few years living in Tokyo. This year, Makoto decides to return to his birthplace with his friend and classmate Hakana Fuyutsuta to visit the family and friends he has left behind. They include his childhood friend Kanon Ayakawa, an amnesic girl named Yukika Yanagi, a local café waitress named Misumi Komaki, and a local shrine maiden named Miki Kimizuka. When an old legend resurfaces that foretells that whoever writes a love letter to their beloved will get to be with them if they post it at the local shrine on the 26th of December, Makoto must decide which of the five girls he loves more than just a friend.

The game's story is told over three chapters. At specific points, the player is prompted to choose one of several options on-screen which will determine Makoto's response to an event or line of dialogue. The player's responses may influence the development of the story and cause it to branch into different routes that culminate in different endings. The game features Japanese voice acting for the heroines and contains explicit sexual content.
