Description
Shark is a single-player side-scrolling arcade game.
The Purple Priority Warning came from all three stations simultaneously. The Intruders' three-pronged attack had caught the Earth Defence Installations unawares, allowing them to steamroll straight through the token defences and leave them on the brink of complete control. The emergency session of the United World Parliament was in uproar. Only one man had the courage, the skill, and the determination, Colonel Charles St John Sharkey, known to his friends as 'Shark'.
The player controls Shark, who can move left, right, duck, jump, and fire straight forwards. The goal is to move through a large scrolling level from the left to the right jumping across platforms and gaps, while an unending number of enemy soldiers, helicopters, and trucks assault the player. When soldiers are shot, they sometimes leave bonuses, including: a high velocity rifle, a machine gun, award extra jumping ability, temporary invincibility, or occasionally extra lives. At the end of each level a large boss machine appears, which throws bombs towards the player. The player starts with 3 lives, and it's game over if all are lost.
