The title screen and menu
The game's configuration options.
The game is timed in two ways. It can be played as a standard game and then replayed for a better time or it can be played as a timed game. This choice affects how the Bonus Item works because it will either grant a clue or additional time
The start of the game. After a few lines of text to establish Laura as a struggling journalist the player is taken through a brief tutorial
This is important. I started with six clues. Along the way I used a few but in some scenes a small star appears, it is called a Bonus Object in the game, and when that is clicked on it returns one clue or extra time in the timed game
The first set of puzzles are to find boats, then taxis, then various New York landmarks
This is the first hidden object scene, most of the hidden object scenes are photorealistic like this. As one item, or collection of items, is cleared another will appear
This is an interesting, and frustrating, variation on the Car Park Puzzle, the aim is to get the big pizza on the right to the edge of the oven on the left.
Puzzles are explained and solving them brings rewards
A hidden object puzzle in Laura's apartment. Note that the zoom button on the left is disabled. Bu holding the mouse button down and moving the mouse left/right the image can be moved to reveal items to either side of the screen
A hidden object game on Laura's computer
Another hidden object scene however this one has a bit of a twist because some items are hidden behind bits of furniture, in drawers or cupboards which I don't think is fair
Laura will collect some items during the game and, when the time is right, she will use them
Here the objective is to rearrange the tiles to form a crossword where all the clue answers are related to New York
Each of the jobs Laura tries has its own set of puzzles and mini games
Here Laura has a tap-to-shoot mini game to play while she is at the supermarket checkout. There are a few mini games similar to this later on in the game
Two things about this hidden object game fooled me. First I did not realise that I could drag the scene to the left and right to reveal more of the image. Secondly I think of a quill pen as being a feather with a point on it and here it isn't
Laura gets a writing assignment and that in turn leads to another job
This is another tap-to-shoot game. Laura is a waitress and her assigned colour is red so I have to click on only the meals that have a red sticker
In the fashion store Laura must find matching pairs of shoes
A hidden object puzzle with a twist, find the items that glow under UV light
Laura is searching through the contents of her handbag in a more traditional form of a hidden object puzzle. Isn't that a UK passport she's got there?
Another nice variation on the car park puzzle. I liked this one
When all these items had been found I was tasked with finding six geese. The black bird, the seagulls and anything with wings counted as a goose as far as the game was concerned
Once the game has been completed the End Of Game Bonus menu option is unlocked, this allows all the mini games to be replayed
Here I have started a game in Timed mode. I start with just three clues and the first puzzle now has a countdown timer in the upper right corner. I have already found most of the yellow taxis and have used the game's zoon option to help find the last one.
