Stormcycle

Stormcycle is a 1-player arcade game for the BBC Micro.

As a prelude to the imminent invasion of Earth, the warmongering alien army have unleashed a powerful meteorite storm to bombard the Earth's defenses and secure a safe landing for their mother ship. Earth's scientists are preparing a super laser capable of destroying the meteorites before they can do any damage. An alien expeditionary force has stolen the five light refracting diodes required to power the mirror. The player must find all five lasers and return them to the starting house.

The player controls a character who can move left and right, jump, and squat. The character can use their fire sword which attacks a short distance directly forwards. The player can pick up and drop items, and can pick up bombs and detonate these. The player has limited health that continuously decreases as attacked by enemy aliens. If the player touches dangerous terrain they instantly lose a life. Numerous doors allow players to move between areas, including: forest, garden, moon, cellar, and the castle. Some of these doors can cause the player to become trapped. Other items allow the player to regenerate health.
