Saigon is a 1-player arcade shooter for multiple systems.

Armed with grenades and the latest M16 rifle, Sergeant Rumbo sets out on a mission to free the P.O.W.s still held captive by Communist guerrillas, long after hostilities have ended with the U.S.

Played from a top-down perspective, the player moves through a number of fixed screens. Each screen is filled with a number of enemy Vietnamese soldiers. Bridges, barricades, enemy watchtowers, gates, tunnels, and trees add variety to the terrain. The player has unlimited bullets, and can shoot and move in eight directions.

The player has a limited number of grenades that can destroy a larger area. These can be picked up by walking over grenade boxes. The player gains an additional life whenever the free a hostage. If Sergeant Rumbo is hit by enemy fire he loses a life. The goal on each level is to reach the enemy base and destroy it.
