Description official description

The Championship Manager series is a line of football (soccer) management simulations. You take charge of 1 or more football teams, and aim to lead them to glory by signing the right players, selecting the right formations and tactics, and keeping your squad and chairman happy.

This edition features teams from 15 major leagues - Brazil, Sweden and Japan are among those featured for the first time. You now have reserve and youth teams, in which you can play trialists and try out young players - the assistant manager can handle these games if you wish. New to the Championship Manager 3 game engine is a training system, allowing you to specify which skills groups of your players (such as defenders, reserves, or those returning from injury) concentrate on.

The game takes a while to calculate results and other AI team decisions, but for the first time the game has an integrated multi-tasking system, allowing you to make decisions and browse other squads while this is taking place. The game engine also now includes network play.

If you are successful, you will be rewarding with the ultimate accolade - the chance to manage an international team. This involves scouring clubs to find eligible players, and then selecting squads to play in World Cup / European Championship / Copa America matches, as appropriate.

The father of management games!

The Good
Lots of players, teams, and championships. The AI is pretty clever, so it simulates really well the game we all love (from the transfers, to the tactics).

The Bad
After a while, the real players get replaced by new ones (generated by the own game), which makes it a little dull.

The Bottom Line
The first remarkable game of its series, CM3 is the precursor of the football management fever that is still alive. Guide your through the years, and win as much championship as you can. And who knows, maybe the next Maradona is in your youth team!
