Railroad Tycoon II
Windows version
A minor disappointment
The Good
The game has several nice features like a more complex stock market handling than RR1. If you like economic management, this will probably suit your tastes.
The interface is, of course, somewhat nicer too, which makes it easier to overview your railroad(s) by zooming in and out.
The Bad
The object of the game is basically to complete different "missions", each with its own objectives. Though this may sound appealing to some, I liked the original better, where you just have to build at railroad that expands continually and, of course, crush your competitors. RR2 just doesn't have the same amount of freedom, in my opinion.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: If you'll like this game or not depends wholly on what you like in the original game. Some will probably think the "campaign" type of game is funny. I think it's sucks. I'd rather have the original game with better graphics, more complex economy and a few nifty additions.
