You can set the difficulty level according to taste.
Choose one of the preset characters from the previous game and choose the skills and name.
Contact! The first encounter is an ambush, set by your antagonist.
Some environments like wood fences are destructible and can be blown away with grenades or other explosives (and the enemies too of course).
You can toggle the character's field of view. This is very useful when setting up overlapping fields of fire.
All random and most quest-related combat maps have one or more exit zones. These are great when you want to fight another day.
Flanking an enemy is of course a good tactic.
Foliage is abundant and makes for great hiding places for a stealthy approach.
Two mercenaries crawling hidden in high grass and thick bushes.
The zoom window is great to establish a line of fire.
Two mercs using the zoom window to check out an old merc (pun intended).
Reach out and touch a fellow human being. Note the grammar in the log window: "Enemy was Fuchs hit in..."?
Suspicious sounds show as animated question marks. Someone is trying to flank the squad!
Close quarters combat is essential and a dangerous part of being a gun for hire.
Close quarters combat tends to be somewhat chaotic.
Sometimes cold steel is the best alternative for taking out a foe.
A slit throat means you may save you ammunition.
If you don't have a blade a good old stomp to the head will do just fine.
Spectacular death!
Great dying pose. "Avenge me!"
All shots fired ends up somewhere. This must be taken into consideration when civilians are in the combat zone.
A poor bandit begs for his life as a swarm of buckshot is coming his way.
The mercenary called Vermin bites the proverbial grass.
The main character takes one in the head and goes to hell to regroup, because mercenaries never die.
A mercenary fires his bolt-action Mosin-nagrant rifle. The muzzle flash is a dead giveaway in night fighting.
A certain graphic novel adaptation is spoofed. This man introduces himself with: "I... am... Spartan!" All that's missing is a kick in the gut, but that would be for a poor first impression!
Mercenaries chanting: I don't want no teenage queen, I just want my M-14."
You can only have six mercenaries in you squad at any given time.
Apeiron sure do like their turtles.
