Which Witch is Which?

Which Witch is Which? is a fast-paced action game developed for the Swedish Game Awards 08 competition. For one, or two players cooperatively, the player controls a witch at a fixed position on the left side of the screen. Evil magic essences appear from the right and try to get past the witches. Players need to aim and shoot magic to stop them, otherwise life points are drained. Magic needs to be shot at an angle as it does not have a straight trajectory.

The challenge is enhanced through the different colours of the essences (four in single-player, five in multiplayer). Players need to shoot the correct form of magic that corresponds with the essence's colour to take it out, except for the yellow ones that vanish with any kind of magic. As each witch only has three types of magic available, in multiplayer this means only one player can take out specific kinds of ghosts. The game keeps track of the score and provides multipliers for successive hits. As the game progresses, more essences appear and at a faster rate. All actions are controlled through the keyboard.
